The database and authentication services are provided by Supabase Inc., 970 Toa Payoh North, Singapore.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., The One Building, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Stripe is PCI‑DSS Level 1 certified.
1.3 Intellectual property
The entire website (design, texts, logo, code, illustrations, database) is the exclusive property of Athena Militaria or is subject to usage licences. Any reproduction, representation, distribution or exploitation, whether total or partial, without prior written authorisation, is prohibited and constitutes an infringement punishable under articles L.335‑2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code.
Photographs of items published by sellers remain the property of their authors; they grant Athena Militaria a non‑exclusive, free and worldwide licence for the purposes of operating the website.
1.4 Applicable law and competent jurisdiction
The website and these terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, exclusive jurisdiction is granted to the courts of the defendant's place of residence, unless a contrary legal provision is more favourable to the consumer.
2. General Terms of Use
2.1 Purpose
The purpose of these Terms of Use is to define the conditions of access to and use of the Athena Militaria platform, a marketplace specialising in connecting buyers and sellers of military and historical collectible items.
2.2 Access and account creation
Access to the platform is free. Browsing listings is unrestricted. However, publishing listings, making purchases and using the messaging system require the creation of an account.
The user undertakes to provide accurate, complete and up‑to‑date information. They are solely responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials. Any fraudulent use must be reported immediately to contact@athenamilitaria.fr.
Access to the service is reserved for natural persons of legal age (18 years or older) with legal capacity.
2.3 Rules of conduct
The following is prohibited on the platform:
- publishing any unlawful, defamatory, insulting, racist, discriminatory content, or content inciting hatred or violence;
- using fake profiles or impersonating a third party;
- collecting the personal data of other users;
- circumventing the platform to carry out transactions outside the official payment system (in order to avoid fees);
- introducing any virus, malware or code likely to disrupt the service.
2.4 Items prohibited from sale
The following are strictly prohibited from being listed for sale:
- All functional firearms (categories A, B, C or D1 not deactivated within the meaning of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2403);
- Live ammunition, explosives, grenades, improvised explosive devices, even if inert and uncertified;
- Any item glorifying war crimes, crimes against humanity, Nazism or terrorism (article R645‑1 of the French Criminal Code);
- Items looted from illegal archaeological excavations (law of 27 September 1941 and the Heritage Code);
- Items of human origin (bones, hair);
- Official decorations still in force awarded to an identifiable person, without consent;
- Any item whose sale is prohibited by French or European law.
Reproductions and deactivated pieces are permitted subject to the regulations in force and provided they are clearly indicated in the listing.
2.5 Moderation and sanctions
Athena Militaria reserves the right, without notice or compensation, to remove any listing that breaches these terms, to suspend or delete any user account, and to report any illegal behaviour to the competent authorities.
2.6 Service availability
Athena Militaria strives to ensure the availability of the website 24/7. However, interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or in the event of force majeure. Athena Militaria cannot be held liable in this respect.
2.7 Sold listings
A listing sold on or after 19 September 2026 remains visible on the website, marked "Sold", with its title, photos, description, price and date of sale. It appears in the sales archive, which records the prices paid between collectors, and can no longer be bought. The archive never shows the buyer's identity. The seller may ask for its removal at any time by writing to contact@athenamilitaria.fr: the listing is then removed within seven days.
3. General Terms of Sale
3.1 Nature of the service
Athena Militaria is a marketplace (marketplace) connecting sellers and buyers. The platform does not own the items offered; it facilitates the transaction and guarantees the security of the payment.
3.2 Order process
- The buyer selects the item on the product page and clicks « Acheter ».
- They are redirected to the secure Stripe payment page.
- They enter their bank details and confirm the order.
- They receive a confirmation e‑mail, as does the seller.
- The seller has 5 business days to ship the item.
3.3 Prices and payment
Displayed prices are in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes when the seller is subject to VAT, or excluding VAT when the seller is a private individual. Shipping costs are indicated at the time of payment.
Payment is made exclusively online via Stripe, by bank card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). No bank data is stored by Athena Militaria.
3.4 Platform commission
Where applicable, Athena Militaria charges a commission on each sale (details specified when publishing a listing). Funds are paid to the seller after the buyer confirms proper receipt of the item.
3.5 Delivery
The delivery methods (hand delivery, tracked postal shipment, pickup point) are defined by the seller in each listing. The buyer is informed of the tracking number upon shipment. Timeframes are indicative and cannot engage the liability of Athena Militaria.
3.6 Right of withdrawal
In accordance with articles L221‑18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the individual buyer has a period of 14 days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to justify their decision.
To exercise this right, the buyer must notify their decision by e‑mail to the seller's address (via the site's messaging system) and to contact@athenamilitaria.fr. Return costs are borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Reimbursement is made within 14 days following the recovery of the goods or proof of their shipment.
In accordance with article L221‑28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for goods made to order, personalised goods, or sealed goods that cannot be returned for reasons of health protection or hygiene.
3.7 Legal guarantees
Every purchase benefits from the following legal guarantees:
- Legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217‑3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): 2 years from delivery of the goods;
- Guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code): 2 years from discovery of the defect.
For a transaction between private individuals, only the guarantees of the Civil Code (hidden defects, non‑conformity) apply.
3.8 Authenticity and liability
The seller guarantees that they own the item sold and that they can legally transfer it. Authenticity is declared under the seller's responsibility. In the event of a dispute over authenticity, the buyer may open a report from the site's messaging system within 14 days following receipt.
3.9 Dispute resolution & mediation
In the event of a dispute persisting after a complaint to the seller and customer service (contact@athenamilitaria.fr), the consumer buyer may resort free of charge to the competent consumer mediator.
In accordance with article 14.1 of Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, the buyer may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
4. Privacy policy (GDPR)
4.1 Data controller

4.2 Data collected
The following data may be collected:
- E‑mail address, encrypted password (authentication);
- Last name, first name, postal address (delivery, billing);
- Content of listings and photographs published;
- Messages exchanged between users (kept for moderation purposes);
- Technical data (IP address, user‑agent, connection logs);
- Transaction data provided to Stripe (Athena Militaria does not have access to the bank details).
4.3 Legal bases and purposes
- Performance of the contract: account management, order processing, messaging, customer service;
- Legal obligation: billing, accounting, fraud prevention;
- Legitimate interest: site security, abuse prevention, service improvement;
- Consent: newsletter, non‑essential cookies.
4.4 Retention period
- User account: for the entire duration of activity + 3 years after the last login;
- Invoices and transaction data: 10 years (accounting obligation);
- Messages: 2 years;
- Connection logs: 12 months.
4.5 Recipients
The data is intended exclusively for Athena Militaria and its subprocessors (Stripe for payments, Supabase for data hosting, Resend for sending transactional e‑mails, OVH for web hosting). After a purchase, and only if you accept the satisfaction survey offered on the confirmation page, your e‑mail address, order number and delivery country are shared with Google (Google Customer Reviews service). It is never transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
4.6 Transfers outside the European Union
Some subprocessors (Supabase, Stripe, Google) may carry out processing outside the EU. These transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (decision 2021/914) guaranteeing an equivalent level of protection.
4.7 Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR (regulation EU 2016/679) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:
- Right of access, rectification and erasure of your data;
- Right to restriction of processing;
- Right to portability;
- Right to object;
- Right to define post‑mortem directives;
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact dpo@athenamilitaria.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris).
4.8 Security
Athena Militaria implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: TLS encryption, hashed passwords, RLS (Row Level Security) policies on the database, two‑factor authentication for administrator accounts, regular backups.
